To finalise my Encounters journey, I exampled my tattooing process, and also my ideas for the presentation of my work. During tattooing my larger slab of latex, I had decided that I would additionally like to include one of the smaller slabs also, as I had liked how the tester designs had come out. After completing the tattoos, I trimmed the edges of both slabs, and then contemplated how I would exhibit them both. Due to using purple sharpie to fill in areas where the stencils of the designs had not transferred onto the latex, I knew that I would need to do something that would cancel out the purple. I had decided that I would present the latex in frames, backed onto purple backgrounds, specifically foam as I could pin the latex into the frames (for effect). With my foam, I had differed the colours, depending on how each latex slab looked when backed onto the purple - with this, I had to measure and trim the foam, as to fit in the frame. For my frames, I chose sizes where the latex would comfortably fit into, (8"x10" and 5"x7"), and also decided to differ the colours of the frames also.
After all the elements came together, I had a small photography session with them, as to example my working. Overall, I liked how this project had turned out, though, I wish I hadn't used a goofy purple background. I felt that the tattooing process was fun, specifically the research, as it was insightful into the rich, historical culture of tattooing, whilst additionally, the whole experience of tattooing and how to operate the equipment, gave me a real feel to my aspiring future career.
