The Body Project Sketchbook Page (Pt.6)

With my altered and unaltered full body images, I had decided to make life-size (ish) cut outs of both - because I felt like it, and also because I had been obsessed with buying a Danny DeVito cut out. As I had altered the faces separately, I used those, instead of the ones actually attached to my body; this gave a Hannah Hoch vibe, as they slightly appeared disproportionate. Though, I exampled my working in a double page; as to how I printed out each section, cut them out PRECISELY, and taped/glued them together. This was my favourite thing I've done in class, specifically as the Twins (easier than The Cut Outs), freaked out literally everyone that entered the studio.

Though, I wanted to involve more "arty" things into this area, so over Christmas, I created a small sculpture of the altered full body image, which I named 'The Ugli Award'. She was initially inspired by a comment from my boyfriend, who told me that I looked like a 'Grave Hag' from the game, The Witcher, and from this I researched game art, and sculptures inspired by its characters. She came out looking a bit shite, however, it's my first time creating a small sculpture that combined a gross, altered image of myself, and that of a creature literally called a HAG. Across two double pages, I exampled my research, my design development, and then the process of how I created my small, ugly award.
